Thun Construction was created in 2005 out of a desire to bring quality, tradition, and artistic integrity to everyday life, and the contemporary built environment. In projects for both the home, and the garden, Thun Construction relies on traditional, and contemporary building methods, using precision tools, and high-quality materials. It is our intention to employ care, craftsmanship, and artistic sensibilities in order to create lasting and meaningful structures for people to enjoy.
Josh Thun grew-up in the foothills of Mt. Rainier, where at a young age, he began to express a passion for building, and carpentry. He went on to study scenic design, and construction for the theater, eventually earning a degree in fine art. From 2005 to 2007, Josh traveled frequently to Nantucket, MA, where he worked as carpenter on a private estate, learning an array of new construction methods. In his spare time, Josh, along with his wife, Kate, likes to travel, cook, bake, hike, ski, and snowshoe.
